Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Class 3 Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, conducting pickups in the city, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to operate heavy equipment and utilize automotive repair skills as needed.
Please note we will only be accepting local candidates and we are looking for someone that can operate on an as-needed basis.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including a flatbed tridem with rear-mounted forklift, and a 1-tonne dumping flatbed , to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or dump.
- Ensure accurate delivery of freight while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspect vehicles regularly for maintenance needs and perform basic automotive repairs if qualified.
- Maintain delivery paperwork and shipment details
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as inventory management and freight handling as required.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for loading or unloading freight.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or freight transportation is preferred.
- Valid Class 3 Drivers license
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus.
- Automotive repair skills are desirable to assist with vehicle maintenance.
- Experience with freight logistics or warehouse operations will be advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
