Andrews.engineer (A.E) is a consulting civil engineering company exclusively focused on municipal asset management. We are, first and foremost, sewer engineering experts. Founded in 1993, A.E has extensive experience and involvement in all stages of sewer asset management including collection and storage of sewer inventory data, the execution of sewer and manhole condition assessment programs, and the planning, design and construction administration of sewer rehabilitation works.
A.E is a growing, employee-owned firm with a team of over 40 professional engineers, technical staff, site inspectors and administration support.
As a Site Inspector – Trenchless Rehabilitation on our team, you will be responsible for the oversight of subcontractors and adherence to the specifications and standards of the construction contract and applicable legislation.
This is a Full Time Permanent, in-field role, with overtime occasionally expected. Shift times vary to coordinate with contractor schedules, and may include, days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Duties
· Provide construction oversight and administrative support to Contract Administrator and Project Manager
· Perform quality assurance inspection and acceptance for sewer and manhole construction/rehabilitation and restoration work
· Ensuring contractor’s work complies with contract documents, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all applicable Environmental and Waste Management Regulations
· Maintain detailed daily diaries of site reviews and construction progress
· Act professionally as a project and company representative
· Preparation of quantity measurements, payment certifications and other project administrative duties
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management or equivalent
· Competency in the occupational health and safety act and construction regulations
· Minimum 3-5 years experience in water/wastewater industry; preferably trenchless technology
· Knowledge of Ontario Provisional Standards and Specifications, Canadian Contract Law, and strong proficiency in MS Office
· Ability to communicate effectively; strong technical writing and interpersonal skills;
· Class ‘G’ driver’s licence in good standing and daily access to a personal vehicle
· Ability to read and interpret contract documents and engineering drawings.
· Familiarly with GPS technology and skills in AutoCAD and Microstation is an asset
· Experience in sewer inspection, rehabilitation, cleaning and would be an asset
· First aid training, Working at Heights, OTM Book 7, NASSCO PACP/MACP certifications etc. would be an asset, however training will be provided to the successful candidate as required.
Compensation & Benefits
· Competitive Hourly Rate, starting at $30 per hour and commensurate with experience
