OVERVIEW
Lauren Services is currently seeking an Electrical Intern/Co-op Student/New Graduate to join our engineering team. This is a paid internship/co-op opportunity designed for students in their 2nd-4th year of study or recent graduates in electrical engineering. The objective is to provide practical experience that allows students to give back to their communities and enhance their careers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform assignments that require the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out electrical engineering tasks.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Engage in assignments aimed at developing your judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities within the engineering field.
- Exercise judgment in developing details of work and making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids specific to electrical systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a recent graduate in the field.
- Some knowledge of engineering requirements in the oil and gas or renewables sectors.
- General understanding of electrical engineering practices and specifications within the industry.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software, along with basic knowledge of industry-standard software relevant to electrical engineering.
- Preferred candidates will have no more than one academic year remaining before earning their degree, typically seniors. A positive performance review may lead to an offer of employment as an intern, co-op student, or registered Engineer In Training.
SKILLS
- Must possess strong electrical engineering skills and be capable of collaborating with various engineering disciplines.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and accepted industry practices is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with peers, project managers, site managers, and clients.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is a plus.
