We are looking for efficient and detail-oriented Pre-Fabrication Technicians to join our Production Team. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of materials and components needed for production. Your attention to detail and efficiency are key to ensuring smooth production operations and high-quality output.
Position: Pre-Fabrication Technician
Location: 2168 Springfield Road (no bus routes)
Role Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday Day & Evening
Starting Wage: $20.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials using tape measures, rulers, squares, and other measurement tools.
- Work confidently with metric measurements, particularly millimetres, to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Read and interpret basic drawings, diagrams, measurements, and work instructions.
- Inspect materials and components to ensure dimensions, quality, and specifications are met.
- Prepare, organize, and stage materials and components for production.
- Perform cutting, drilling, fastening, fitting, and basic fabrication tasks as required.
- Safely and effectively operate hand tools and power tools.
- Identify measurement, fit, material, or quality issues and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
- Label, organize, and store materials and components in designated areas.
- Complete daily equipment startup, shutdown, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance.
- Load, unload, and safely move materials to maintain an efficient production flow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to resolve production issues and improve workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in carpentry, construction, fabrication, woodworking, manufacturing, or a related hands-on trade is preferred.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and work with metric measurements, particularly millimetres.
- Comfortable using a tape measure, square, ruler, calipers, and other measurement tools.
- Ability to accurately measure, mark, cut, and assemble materials according to specifications.
- Basic ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, measurements, and work instructions.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify measurement, fit, or quality issues.
- Basic mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and safely lifting, moving, and handling materials.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, organization, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Carpentry or construction experience involving measuring and cutting materials is considered a strong asset.

- Days: Monday - Friday; 7:00AM - 3:30PM
- Evenings: Monday - Friday; 3:30PM - 11:30PM *Training conducted on Day Shift*
