Why is this role important?
The Preseason Planning Manager will manage and plan merchandise sales and inventory positions nationally to drive sales, inventory, profit and sell through goals. The successful candidate will be involved in setting and executing strategies, while working closely and collaboratively with the Category, Finance, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams to identify sales and inventory trends and make appropriate recommendations when needed. This role will drive and/or contribute to projects resulting in improved departmental processes and efficiencies.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Develop, consolidate and communicate a comprehensive pre-season planning strategy that identifies opportunities and risks at the store level.
Ensure best practices for assortment planning and make recommendations to support allocation strategies.
Provide analysis and research to support the creation of the assortment matrix and buy plans.
Review case pack and demand forecasting recommendations
Participate in product line review meetings
Attend monthly category BU meetings and report out on KPI’s.
3+ years Planning/Merchandising experience, Bachelors Degree.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to interact and report on business with cross functional teams and across all levels of management.
Strong leadership and problem solving skills, adaptability/flexibility and initiative.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Experience coaching, and leading high performing teams
Advanced computer skills in Excel required (macros, v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
