Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, supporting the efficient movement of goods while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for long-haul and local deliveries, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring secure handling of cargo
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, utilizing forklift or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe driving practices
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is advantageous
- Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road
- Experience with freight handling and logistics operations is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
