Ottawa West Excavation is seeking a motivated and dependable Excavation Labourer to join our growing team. We specialize in residential and commercial excavation, grading, drainage, septic systems, site preparation, retaining walls, and landscaping projects throughout the Ottawa area.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is interested in developing skills in the excavation and construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with excavation, grading, drainage, and landscaping projects
- Hand dig around utilities and existing infrastructure
- Install drainage pipe, stone, geotextile, and related materials
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
- Perform site cleanup and maintain a safe work environment
- Assist with septic system installations and repairs
- Operate skid steer equipment when required
- Work alongside equipment operators and foremen to complete projects efficiently
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Construction or landscaping experience is considered an asset
- Skid steer experience is considered an asset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating skid steers or compact equipment
- Experience with excavation, grading, landscaping, or construction
- DZ license considered an asset
- Knowledge of site services and drainage systems considered an asset
