About Pothos Counselling & Consultation Services
Pothos Counselling & Consultation Services is a small, specialized private practice in Peterborough, Ontario, focused on the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and anxiety-related concerns. Our approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppressive practice. We are growing and we are looking for a skilled, motivated clinician to join us.
Position Overview
We are seeking a regulated clinician with a minimum of 3 years experience in the mental health field, in either community or private settings, who is interested in joining and expanding a private practice with a focus on OCD and anxiety. This is an independent contractor role offering significant autonomy, dedicated office space and consultation/training support.
The right candidate does not need to arrive with OCD specialisation. What matters is solid clinical experience, a genuine interest in developing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) proficiency, and an openness to ongoing consultation and learning. Experience working with youth and adolescents is a strong asset.
Responsibilities
· Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients presenting with OCD, anxiety, and related concerns
· Provide individual therapy using evidence-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in accordance with the ethical and legal standards of your regulatory college (OCSWSSW, CRPO, RNAO, or COTO)
· Adhere to the policies and procedures of Pothos Counselling & Consultation Services
· Participate in regular clinical consultation with the practice founder
· Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to OCD and anxiety treatment
· Foster a collaborative, client-centred therapeutic relationship that supports meaningful progress
Qualifications
· Registration in good standing as a Registered Social Worker (RSW), Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Registered Nurse (RN) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with your relevant Ontario regulatory college
· Minimum 3 years of direct practice experience in a community or private setting
· Master's-level education in social work, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, or a related field
· Valid professional liability insurance for the province of Ontario
· Demonstrated competence across a range of mental health presentations
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Commitment to evidence-based, ethical, and culturally responsive practice
· Experience working with children, youth, and adolescents considered a strong asset
What Pothos Offers
· Independent contractor arrangement with full autonomy over your schedule and hours

· Caseload of 5–22+ clients per week, actively supported through referrals and marketing
· Competitive fee split: 68% to the contractor ($112.50/session)
· All referral intakes, marketing, payment processing, and administrative functions managed by the practice
· Clinical consultation in OCD and ERP provided by the practice founder
· Training in-house and provision of discretionary funds for professional development
· Online booking and charting software (Jane App)
· Hybrid in-person and virtual service delivery models
