The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will play a key role in the execution of the national medical cannabis business development strategy. The incumbent will act as a regional (North Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie) representative to a number of medical professionals to support business growth and manage partner relationships. They will be responsible for disseminating and promoting product specific brand awareness to medical professionals and patients. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will work independently in the field with support available as needed. The successful candidate has demonstrated a proven sales record who possess strong communication skills, is a new starter team player able to effectively communicate while providing leadership through dedicated work ethic.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Source and engage with key HCPs (Physicians, Nurses, etc.); promote Aurora Cannabis and its subsidiary brands, CanniMed, and MedReleaf products and services, provide education and clinical data, and improve overall brand awareness
Meet and exceed sales objectives for assigned portfolio of products
Penetrate new accounts and expand distribution, delivering increased market share
Establish strong relationships with physicians and develop supporters and advocates among key opinion leading stakeholders within the designated territory
Independently manage assigned territory to ensure reach and frequency of targets are being met
Complete weekly and monthly reporting of territory activities
Attend meetings/conference calls to update product knowledge, share market knowledge, review progress vs. objectives, and discuss regional strategies
Host and attend medical learning events within assigned territory
Attend client meetings, conferences and other various commitments when required
Maintain an expert product knowledge base including patient education, consumer education, and factors influencing the market environment
Collect and communicate feedback from physicians on a regular basis regarding MedReleaf products, positioning, messaging, and supporting evidence
Provide input into the development of both regional and area business plans
Work collaboratively with all cross functional team members to ensure optimal execution of regional business plans and business priorities
Generate leads for new business as well as new revenue opportunities from both existing and new stakeholders
Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on prospective customers and potential business development opportunities
Overnight travel will be required
Assess competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new services, marketing strategies and merchandising techniques
Other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills in the medical health area
Self-motivated and independent
Familiarity with CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships
Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
Innovative and critical thinker; capable of driving progress
Excellent time management skills
Superior communication, public relations, client relationship, presentation skills, and organization skills
Standard Microsoft office computer skills including word, excel and PowerPoint

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
University degree in science, education, business, or related fields
3+ years’ experience in a field sales role in a relevant industry, such as: pharmaceuticals, medical cannabis, medical services, etc.
Proven work experience as a sales representative in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech areas
