Position Summary
Responsible for the overall management and performance of our vehicle maintenance facility. Role involves overseeing a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring the timely and efficient repair and maintenance of our trucking fleet. Additionally, will manage budgets, implement preventive maintenance programs, enforce safety standards, and collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime, optimize vehicle performance, and support the company's logistics and transportation operations
Location: 1115 Cardiff Blvd., Mississauga
Schedule: 40 hours Monday to Friday
What you will do
- Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team to ensure the team's objectives and goals are met.
- Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
- Asisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory.
- Auditing vendor invoices ensuring job estimates are accurate, and warranty or goodwill requirements are fulfilled while managing to reduce overall repair costs.
- Working closely with shift managers, setting up and maintaining service department and evaluating its productivity and efficiency.
- Performing quarterly and yearly performance reviews with shop employees.
- Resolving service desk problems and improving service methods to increase the service desk's productivity and customer service.
- Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
- Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
- Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers and 3rd party vendors
- Helping to train new employees in company procedures.
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.
- Working closely with local and remote operation teams, scheduling equipment for service and repairs including daily status updates
- Available 24/7 to provide guidance and approval to the maintenance team as well as the Afterhours Breakdown Center.
What You’ll Bring
- 3-4 years of experience working in a Fleet environment with management experience
- College diploma in a business or related field
- 310T Truck and Coach Journeyperson
- Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills which include word and excel
- Strong industry knowledge
- good organizational skills
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving
- The abilty to work under pressure and handle stress
