Overview:
Our client, a Producer of Medical Cannabis Products licensed under Health Canadas ACMPR program, is in need of several Packaging Technicians to join their rapidly expanding production team. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits, located in the companys Brampton facilities.

The Packaging Associate will be responsible for the assembly, organization and quality control of medical cannabis. This will involve ensuring that packaging is made and executed to proper specifications, with an emphasis on efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness. Other responsibilities may include the testing and review of all packaging, addressing any issues or complaints with regards to packaging, as well as the use of and maintenance of inventory tracking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support a strong safety culture
  • Ensuring the effective execution of Packaging tasks within established company policy, procedure and requirements (Safety, Quality, Compliance)
  • Follow SOPs, complete GPP documentation in batch records and other relevant GPP documents
  • Participate in the daily operation of the lines and material handling
  • Learning the steps to weigh, place whole, dried flower into a jar and seal a cap onto the jar in a safe manner while adhering to quality standards
  • Learning the process for setting up packaging equipment
  • Understanding each of the processes inside the Packaging room.
  • May lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Learning how to identify and communicate with Manufacturing manager or his or her designate any quality or equipment issues during the packaging process
  • Daily housekeeping tasks in each processing room and common space within the Facility
  • Ensure production schedules are met and deals with problems that may occur
  • Must control any damaged or incorrect packaging and have such items returned and repaired.
  • Communicate with packaging employees both within and across shifts (Line issues, escalation of issues, clear and concise handover)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one-year relevant working experience
  • Previous packaging experience an asset (can train).
  • Ability to work in a result oriented, challenging environment
  • Basic computer skills considered an asset
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Positive outlook, willingness to learn and contribute to company success
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and attain necessary skills/competencies
  • Ability to take direction and follow all company policies/procedures

Work Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required.
  • Work is performed in a combination of environments.
  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils.
