Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Licensed Auto Body Painter/Prep Man/Body Man to join our automotive repair team. This role is essential in restoring vehicles to their original condition through expert painting, bodywork, and preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, dealership experience preferred, and possess the mechanical knowledge necessary to perform high-quality repairs efficiently. Duties
- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure a smooth finish
- Apply primer, paint, and clear coat using spray guns and other power tools with precision and attention to detail
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, fenders, doors, and other vehicle components using hand tools and heavy lifting techniques
- Perform bodywork repairs including dent removal, filling, sanding, and shaping to restore vehicle integrity
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automotive body systems
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times
- Assist with vehicle disassembly and reassembly as needed during repair processes
- Ensure all repairs meet dealership or company quality standards
Qualifications
- Valid auto body painter license or certification required
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in auto body work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy vehicle parts
- Prior experience with automotive repair or mechanic work is required.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
