Job Description
- Patient Intake: Greet customers promptly, gather accurate prescription information, and perform initial clinical assessments within the technician scope of practice.
- Prescription Dispensing: Independent preparation, final technical checking, and releasing of prescriptions to ensure accurate dispensing using the Kroll pharmacy system.
- Patient Inquiries: Answer general health enquiries, gather medical histories, and transfer clinical questions to the Pharmacist when necessary.
- Clear Communication: Effectively communicate drug information and health instructions to patients both in person and over the phone.
- Clinical Support: Identify patients who qualify for clinical pharmacy services, manage special authorization requests with physician offices, and maintain full documentation.
- Practice Standards: Accurately complete and file clinical records in a timely, organized manner to meet the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) Standards of Practice.
- Inventory Control: Monitor, order, and control the pharmacy stock utilizing internal inventory management systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
- Licensure: Valid license and registration in good standing as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
- Experience: Previous dispensary experience required, with a preference for a community retail setting.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer skills with hands-on proficiency in Kroll Pharmacy Software required.
- Patient Care: Exceptional patient service skills with a dedication to building community trust and professional relationships.
- Workplace Skills: Effective organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and excellent attention to detail.
