SNOW REMOVAL - Labourer
Overview
Looking to hire individuals for SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL; must have good work ethic, teamwork skills, and safety focused. Position requires early morning and overnight work as needed.
Duties
- Perform general labour related to sidewalk snow removal and seasonal maintenance, and assist with job site and related demands
- Shoveling and ice scraping
- Operate walk-behind sweeper or snow blower
- Operate backpack blowers
- Application of salt/gravel/sand to ice
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure efficient and productive operations
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors
- Follow all safety requirements and policies at all times
- Participate in jobsite and safety meetings and reporting
Requirements and skills
- Safety focused; able to work safely and stay alert at all times
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Able to take instruction and work with crews to perform snow removal tasks
- Physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Able to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Must maintain a courteous and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the public at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- CSTS and WHIMIS required
- Experaince in snow removal or seasonal maintenance is beneficial
- Safety and construction certifications and other related training is beneficial
**Potential opportunity for full-time, permanent position with paving/construction crews during summer months.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
