Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator or Senior Estimator for a med sized construction company. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction processes. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the planning and budgeting phases of projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately estimated and effectively communicated. Your expertise will help guide project management decisions and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for accurate estimating and project management.
- Collaborate with project managers to build comprehensive project plans that align with client expectations.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders outlining estimated costs and project timelines.
- Monitor ongoing projects to adjust estimates as necessary based on changes in scope or unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain an organized database of past estimates for reference in future projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in construction Estimating
- 5+ years with a construction company specializing in commercial, institutional or industrial projects between $5-50M
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- A background in project management is a plus, showcasing your ability to oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Relevant certifications or degrees in construction management or related fields are advantageous.
