Nexxgen Environmental is an environmental remediation company based out of Ajax Ontario, specializing in earthworks and system installations. Our earthworks division conducts large and small excavations/ trenches on large properties and in limited space environments. Excavations/ trenches can vary from standard basic operations to technical shoring operations depending on site conditions. Our work is primarily in the GTA and surrounding areas, although we do work all over Ontario. We are looking for labourers with construction and environmental experience.
***Must be able to lift 50lbs+ consistently over 10hr shift as some jobs don’t allow for equipment and require to be done by hand.***
Experience Required: (Years of experience in each category will determine wage)
1. Operating skid steers: Min. 2 year experience
-Track and wheel machines
-Attachments: Broom, bucket, grapple, forks, etc.
-Backfilling, pads, stock piling, grading, loading material
-Unloading/ loading trucks
2. Operating compaction equipment: Min. 3 year experience
-Plate tampers
-Compaction rollers
-Jumping jack
3. Working around heavy equipment: Min. 3 year experience
-Excavator, Dozers, Rock Trucks
-Dump trucks, dump trailers, transport trucks
-Hydro Vac, Vac Truck, Tanker truck
4. Basic rigging: Min. 2 year experience
-4 way chains, wires, regular chains
-D-rings, swivel hooks, quick release, etc.
-trench boxes, slide rail parts, equipment, etc.
5. Identification and understanding of how to use hand tools: Min. 3 year experience
-Shovels, rakes, picks, post drivers, pry bars, etc.
-Wrenches, pliers, pipe wrenches, sledge hammers, etc.
6. Hand power tools: Min 3 year experience
-Cordless drill, cordless driver, cordless saws, etc.
-SDS Max (spade bit, drill bits up to 1”, coring bits)
7. Working with basic site equipment: Min. 3 year experience
-Site fence, snow fence and t posts
-Site safety signage
-Grade stick (checking grades after supervisor sets stick)
8. GPS Rover (Elevations & Layout)
-TSC3 Rover
Some of the duties include:
-Dewatering trenches/ excavations (2”- 6” pumps and hoses)
-Pump, treatment and discharge of contaminated water
-Maintain operation of treatment systems
-Moving materials/ tools around sites
-Hand digging & concrete breaking
-Backfilling & compacting
-Underpinning
-Traffic control
-Forming & tree hoarding
-Concrete work
-Hand removal of materials inside building or basements
-Rigging shoring equipment
-Operating Rock Trucks
-Operating compaction equipment (Plate tampers to 84” rollers)
-Operating Skid Steers (Attachments include: Brooms, Buckets, Breakers, Grubers, Grapples, etc.)
