As a Rehabilitation Assistant, your responsibility is to aid physiotherapists and occupational therapists in executing particular aspects of the treatment plan devised by the therapist. This assistance is provided under the direct supervision of the therapist.
- Assist patients in daily activities under clinical expert guidance.
- Support individual and group treatment plans, including applying packs and splints.
- Aid in walking and exercise routines for individuals and groups.
- Provide equipment and modify materials for patient treatment.
- Train patients in equipment use and develop patient connections.
- Assist with patient transportation, lifting, and transfers.
- Prepare materials, maintain records, and ensure clean treatment areas.
- Educate patients and caregivers on device usage.
- Participate in conferences and meetings as needed.
- Uphold safety standards and hospital protocols.
- Live and promote center's core values.
- Contribute to student education and training.
- Stay informed about circumstances and actions that could impact the well-being of patients, residents, students, staff, volunteers, doctors, and visitors, including:
- Complying with hospital safety standards and relevant laws
- Identifying and preventing safety concerns and issues
- Taking corrective measures when possible
- Attending safety meetings/training to meet the Center's criteria
- Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the Centre’s core values and helps patients get their life back
- An employee’s disciplinary record will be reviewed as part of the assessment of qualifications
- Certificate in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Assistance.
- Proficiency in rehabilitation principles and tools.
- Knowledge of patient movement and transfer techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Efficient multitasking and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible availability, including weekends.
- Consistent attendance and performance history.
- Prior healthcare experience preferred
