Aqua Vac Sewer & Drain Ltd is a family owned and operated company seeking a long-ter Vacuum Truck Operator to join out team.
We are located in Richmond on river Road. Drivers are dispatched to various locations throughout the city and lower mainland where we ump liquid waste from various types of containment. Drivers must have a valid Class 3 with Air Driving License and a clean driver's record. There is a physical component to the job. Handling 2'-6' hoses used to pump up the liquids and debris and lifting/removing manhole lids/covers.
Job Summary
- Operate heavy trucks and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pump/Vacuum up various types of liquid from septic tanks, sewers, catch basins, etc. and take to appropriate disposal facility.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of jobs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding schedules and any potential delays.
- Stay in close contact with dispatcher.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving in various weather conditions.
- Perform basic maintenance on vehicles, including automotive repair tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class 3) with a clean driving record.
- Able to drive manual and standard transmissions an asset.
- Experience in commercial driving. (minimum 1 year)
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair is preferred for minor vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on the road.
- Strong work ethic and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual to work and job sites.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as part of employment requirements.
