The Switchboard/Parking Associate is the first point of contact for the public over the telephone and provides accurate information in a clear, courteous and professional manner as it relates to a wide array of Town services and programs.
Answers the Town’s main phone line and provide information to callers regarding Town Services, programs, facilities, bylaws, permit requirements, policies and procedures, special events, etc.
Redirects calls to appropriate staff members and other agencies.
Coordinates the processing of the parking ticket program including, data entry, notices, certificates, statistical reports and court forms using various software platforms.
Grade 12 high school diploma.
Minimum two (2) years strong customer service experience in an office environment.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask, plan, coordinate, prioritize job tasks and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work with various databases.
Demonstrated strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Working knowledge of Point of Sale systems.
Working knowledge of the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) ticket processing.
May be required to provide a current criminal reference check that is satisfactory to the Town.
This is a unionized position that works a 35 hour work week. Members of the CUPE bargaining unit will be considered first in accordance with the Collective Agreement. If there are no qualified candidates from within the bargaining unit, consideration may be given to other applicants.
