Position Overview
We are an industrial forklift and material handling equipment company in Richmond, BC, seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Assistant & Trailer Driver. This position splits responsibilities between driving trailers to transport forklifts, equipment, materials, and project waste across British Columbia, and engaging in hands-on warehouse support on non-driving days. If you possess solid driving skills, a valid forklift certification, and a proactive work ethic, we want to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive trailers safely to transport forklifts, equipment, materials, and waste throughout British Columbia.
- Safely load, secure/tie down, transport, and unload heavy cargo and machinery.
- Operate forklifts efficiently to load/unload shipments, organize warehouse stock, and maneuver equipment.
- Execute daily warehouse tasks, including material handling, shop organization, inventory control, and supporting technicians.
- Maintain basic computer logs and inventory tracking records.
- Comply strictly with driving regulations, forklift operating guidelines, and workplace safety standards.
- Adapt flexibly to changing daily tasks between trailering duties and warehouse operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing: Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract (Required).
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator License with practical hands-on experience (Required).
- Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience driving and maneuvering trailers in BC (Required).
- Warehouse Background: Previous experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or machinery environment.
- Physical Capability: Work is physical in nature; must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy for inventory management and record-keeping.
- Commute: Reliable personal transportation to guarantee a daily 8:30 AM start time in Richmond.
- Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in Canada.
