Job Scope:
Reporting to the Maintenance Personager, the scope of this position involves the responsibility of safe and efficient operation and repairs of all plant equipment, as well as the maintenance of the plant infrastructure. This position is responsible for leading and supporting the maintenance staff with a special focus on continuously improving processes and efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment including electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read diagrams and drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, sensors and motors.
- Ensure Standard processes are maintained and followed (coolant quality control, check value monitoring, black line water changes) Clean, lubricate and perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records, following up on tasks assigned with completion times for deficiencies.
- Respond to breakdowns on equipment, utilizing current maintenance request program. (Assign personal, recommend replacement parts purchase, repair etc.)
- Work with Plant Mgmt. on planning and executing longer term projects (including developing tasks, schedules, milestones to keep project on track and within budget)
- Ensure PM Program tasks are followed and completed. Tracking and recording on a daily basis ensuring timely updates to Plant Mgmt. for scheduling PM times on equipment.
- Adjust, update and develop the PM Program with Plant Mgmt. including Operators PMs.
Skills:
- Graduate of Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright program or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery and equipment.
- Some knowledge of PLC controls an asset.
- Able to weld with gas and electrode an asset and use a MIG Welder
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
