Position Summary
The Assistant Station Manager plays the important role of supporting the station by assisting the station with daily operations, including supervising the staff and helping ensure that customers are receiving exceptional service. By working closing with the Station Manager, the Assistant Station Manager will help maintain safety and operational standards, support team culture and contributes to achieving sale goals.
This role serves as a role model on the sales floor, providing guidance to team members, ensuring compliance with Gen7 policies and procedures, and stepping into a leadership role in the absence of the Station Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
o Assist in overseeing daily station operations, including fuel and store activities.
o Ensure compliance with policies, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
o Maintain cleanliness and functionality of pumps, store, and property.
o Support inventory management and product availability.
Team Leadership
o Assist with recruiting, training, and daily supervision of staff.
o Foster a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment.
o Motivate employees to achieve performance and customer service focused goals.
Financial Management
o Assist with implementing station pricing and promotional initiatives.
o Assist with cash management, sales reconciliation, and daily reporting.
o Support inventory counts and loss prevention initiatives to minimize shrinkage.
Customer Service
o Demonstrate and deliver top level of customer service.
o Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
o Support implementation of strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales & Marketing
o Execute promotional campaigns and upselling initiatives.
o Ensure merchandise displays are properly stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
Maintenance
o Report, follow up and coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
o Ensure employees are following safety protocols for fuel handling and procedures.
Qualifications:
- College or university degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 2+ years of retail or fuel station or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with POS systems (Bulloch knowledge considered an asset)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
