Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will be a key player between global entities and the corporate groups for budgets and long-term plan, planning and reporting activities, working capital management, analysis, consolidation and related systems and organization development and will provide product cost and pricing support for all products in production for the Newmarket site.

The Financial Analyst will drive analysis of activity based costing against Standard/Budget, research and explain variances and report this information monthly or as needed. Key elements of the role include but are not limited to profit and loss generation, determination of profitability by product (or group of products) by applying the appropriate price model, cost model and any other actual information available, business case generation (including capital expenditures and design/process changes.) Other responsibilities also include product cost analysis; identifying between actual and assumed cost for major products and input for calculation of material cost.

Detailed Description

Timely completion of monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Thorough analysis of production variance and PPV.
Provide product cost and pricing support for products in production for Newmarket site.
Monthly and quarterly preparation of inventory journal entries for excess & obsolete inventory, goods in transit, overhead and other inventory reserves.
Finance lead for the site’s annual physical inventory audit.
Provide leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Working experience in a manufacturing company is an asset.
Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.
Experience with inventory costing, purchase price variance and materials accounting.
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
Ability to bridge between actual and forecast, analyzing mix impacts and summarizing in management reports.
Understands the inter-relationships between departments and actively participate in cross-functional teams.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple business applications
Ability to understand and apply corporate accounting policies

Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance.
CPA designation is required.
5 years of relevant experience.
