Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
1 year of Addictions and/or Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and/or Mental Health site may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Nursing experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health resources in Edmonton and surrounding area preferred. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques preferred. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act preferred. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, VAST, Domestic Violence screening an asset.
