PHP Full-Stack Developer
We are currently seeking a full-time Intermediate Full-Stack Web Developer to work directly with the Director of Digital Media and the Web Development team including other internal departments to assist with client-side and server-side projects: website development, daily support functions, new product development, database structure and troubleshooting technical difficulties.
Candidates must have 5 years’ experience as well as a relevant degree from an accredited college or university or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain WordPress websites and applications
- Ongoing website improvements and optimization
- Manage and maintain the AWS infrastructure
- Collaborate with the design and development team to implement new features and functionality
- Integrate new technologies, audience platforms, API’s, and general applications into digital ecosystem
- Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues
- Develop features to enhance UX, optimize for mobile and speed
- Communicate with clients regarding technical troubleshooting
- Create custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends and best practices
Qualifications and Skills:
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working as a Full-Stack Developer with WordPress
- Proven portfolio with strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience working with WordPress, including creating custom themes and plugins
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Strong understanding of MySQL and experience with database integration and optimization
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, LightSail, S3, and CloudFront
- Strong understanding of web development best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and SEO
- Experience using the Linux command line and Git
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in UX Design
- Experience with Adobe XD, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience with other Content Management Systems such as Drupal and CodeIgnitor
- Strong communication skills in French
- Ability to problem solve on the fly and readily adapt
- Adaptable: wear “multiple hats” to support team day-to-day operations
- Candidates will be required to complete a take-home assessment during the selection process

Location & Contact:
This position is a hybrid work model, located in our Toronto office. He/she must be able to work effectively while remote and within an office environment. The position will require you to be in office at our Toronto (Etobicoke) location on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
