About Us
Newly established, Ascension Industrial Services provides millwrighting and electrical services to meet all of our customer needs. We specialize in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, shift support, and preventative maintenance. Our team of licensed millwrights and electricians are able to provide clients with peace of mind through our extensive industrial knowledge and dedication to excellent customer service.
Role and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for Electrical Apprentices (309A registered) to join our team. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to think creatively when faced with a challenge, and provide practical solutions to technical problems. You will be expected to liaise with customers, engineer, and vendors, to understand problems and provide solutions focused on continuous improvement. An ideal candidate will have experience in the automation industry. Experience in robot or controls programming is preferred.
A strong candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- Installation and maintenance of electrical systems including EMT, PVC and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring, new service installations, lighting installations, and more
- Preventative maintenance checks/repairs as directed by the client or management;
- Wire motors, beacon lights, photo-eyes, and other control devices
- Read and interpret electrical schematics or prints
- Building and wiring of electrical control panels
- Troubleshoot and repair of electrical system break downs including machine break downs and power issues.
- Ensure all installations meet local electrical code requirements
- Self organized with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Plan and schedule projects
- Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects
- Maintain documentation relating to the completion of ongoing projects
- Work with ESA inspectors
- Maintain high level of customer satisfaction through direct contact and coordination of company resources
Qualifications & Core Skills
- 1+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code (OEC)
- PLC Programming knowledge/experience is an asset
- Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and PLC programming
- Must have experience an electrical role including construction, panel building, or maintenance
- Able to lift weight of up to 50lbs
- Able to work in a warm/cold environment
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
Education:
- Registered as a 309A License apprentice (with Skilled Trades) required

· $25.00-$37.00/hr depending on experience
· Full-time, permanent employment
Schedule:
- 40hrs/week
- Shifts may be days/afternoons/nights (as required)
- Overtime as applicable
