IT Technician (Hybrid)
Our client is seeking an IT Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for assisting with the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's Business Central environment and related business applications as well as providing accounting operations support. This position serves as the primary point of contact for business users in assisting with software use for the organization’s processes.
The successful candidate will manage system configuration, user access, security, troubleshooting, reporting, training, and business process improvements while providing optimal internal customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Central Administration
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environments.
- Configure and manage users, roles, permission sets, and security groups.
- Maintain system configurations, workflows, approval processes, and business rules.
- Support integrations with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and third-party solutions.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities for system updates and enhancements.
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records.
- Support data integrity, data migration, and data governance initiatives.
- Troubleshoot functional and technical issues and coordinate resolution with vendors and consultants as required.
User Support & Training
- Provide Tier 1 support for Business Central users.
- Investigate and resolve user issues relating to transactions, security, workflows, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and process documentation.
- Deliver end-user training for new employees and existing staff.
- Assist departments in adopting new system functionality and best practices.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements and project initiatives.
Business Process Improvement
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation or optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions.
- Recommend process improvements leveraging Business Central functionality and related applications.
- Participate in ERP enhancement projects and future software implementations.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and operational reporting requirements.
IT Liaison Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between business users and internal/external IT support teams.
- Coordinate IT-related requests, incidents, and changes.
- Work with corporate IT to manage:
- User onboarding and offboarding
- Licensing and software provisioning
- Hardware requests and deployments
- Security access reviews
- Microsoft 365 account administration
- Group memberships and distribution lists
- Escalate technical issues and track resolution progress.
- Communicate system outages, planned maintenance, and technology changes to stakeholders.
- Participate in IT governance and technology planning initiatives.
Reporting & Data Management
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Business Central reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
- Support financial, operational, and management reporting requirements.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of master data.
- Collaborate with departments to establish reporting standards and improve data quality.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, or Computer Science.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience working in Microsoft Dynamics’ platforms.
- Experience working with operational and accounting processes, with exposure to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, reconciliations, or general accounting support is considered an asset.
- Experience coordinating business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and cloud-based environments.
