The Talent Acquisition Manager is a member of our HR team, reporting directly to the VP, Human Resources. In this role, the resourceful and accomplished Talent Acquisition Manager will coordinate and manage the recruitment functions for Roots. With a focus on ensuring that the strategic vision and processes for talent and retention are aligned with the organizational objectives, this role leads the development and implementation of both innovative and traditional recruitment sourcing practices in order to meet the high demands of the business. The Talent Acquisition Manager must have the ability to attract top talent, build a stronger employment brand, as well as foster stronger relations with candidates and employees in fast-paced, results-driven environment.

To be successful, you’ll need to possess:
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in an HR Recruitment role, preferably in a retail organization
  • CHRP or CHRL/CHRE designation or working towards designation an asset
  • Current knowledge of HR practices and Employment Law
  • Expert knowledge of HRIS and recruitment systems, preferably Ceridian Dayforce
  • Ability to set priorities and undertake multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Effective in influencing key stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal) as well as strong facilitation skills with a senior audience and ability to simply and concisely communicate complex information
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be able to represent Roots in a positive manner both internally and externally

  • Lead business strategies with innovative talent acquisition, performance management and talent assessment to support employee’s career develop and organizational growth.
  • Establish and provide recruiting metrics as well as other hiring and employment data, metrics and analytics.
  • Update and distribute monthly talent communications.
  • Develop, update and implement talent policies and procedures.
  • Understand current needs and forecast for future recruitment with strategic analysis.
  • Manage the complete recruitment cycle including: Preparation of job postings & descriptions in accordance with Roots standards; resume review and analysis; conducting interviews; hiring recommendations; preparation of offer letters; onboarding and introductory training of new employees.
  • Support and train managers to ensure an effective hiring process and candidate selection.
  • Lead the development and rollout of a formal co-op and campus recruitment program by partnering with select schools to engage and attract new talent
  • Responsible for leading the exit survey process for departing employees and reporting on the survey findings on a quarterly basis
