As a Grocery Clerk, you play an important role in providing customers with a positive shopping experience in a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. You will support daily store operations, assist customers, and ensure shelves are well-stocked while maintaining quality and food safety standards. Familiarity with a wide variety of products, including Asian and international grocery items, is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful assistance
- Stock shelves and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store
- Ensure proper product rotation, accurate pricing, and clear signage
- Assist customers with product inquiries, pricing, and promotions
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling
- Assist with training new staff as required
- Work collaboratively with team members and independently when needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Familiarity with Western and Asian grocery products is an asset
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Retail, cashiering, or grocery experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate store equipment (power jack experience is an asset)
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs or around 23 kgs
- Commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards
