Job Summary
Steamworks North Shore is looking for two Sous Chef's to help lead its opening kitchen team. This unique opportunity involves building a kitchen team from the ground up for our December 2024 opening. We are looking for dynamic kitchen leaders that will facilitate a fun, organized, spotless kitchen that produces amazing food. Sous Chef's must be great mentors and role models with the ability to manage profit goals in a positive supportive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the kitchen opening operations plan
· Hire, train and develop team members
· Make sure labour budgets are being met
· Execute private event menus
· Support staff food knowledge and education
· Manage food production and preparation
· Support inventory, counts, ordering, invoices and Optimum Control reporting
· Execute monthly food and kitchen operations goals
· Ensure recipe ingredients are checked for quality on a consistent basis
· Ensure kitchen is held to the highest health and sanitation standards at all times
· Continually look for ways to improve processes, procedures, and reduce costs
Education and Experience Required
· Food Safe Certification
· Experience in a kitchen management position
· First Aid Level 1 (an asset)
Other Required Skills
· Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
· Ability to be self-directed and solve problems
· Effective interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate in English both orally and written
· Experience using Microsoft Office
