Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and maintaining metal components and structures in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and the ability to work independently or supervise a team. The Welder/Fabricator will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to produce high-quality metal components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately assemble parts and structures.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for maintenance scheduling and troubleshooting.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety standards are met.
- Assist with facilities maintenance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and performing repairs as needed.
- Supervise or lead maintenance teams during repair or fabrication projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including schematics, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet production deadlines and improve manufacturing processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client needs related to fabrication or repairs.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings.
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities in team management or project oversight.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, and facilities maintenance is highly desirable.
- Electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge will be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Strong communication skills in English are required for effective collaboration within teams.
- Previous experience working with schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals is essential for success in this role.
