We are seeking experienced educators to join a two-week professional development program in Nanjing, China, focused on inclusive education and special education practices.(Aug 10-21, 2026).
This program is designed for Chinese educators who are already working in special education schools, resource classrooms, inclusive classrooms, or related student support roles. The goal is to introduce practical Canadian and North American approaches to inclusive education, with a focus on real school examples, classroom-based strategies, student support planning, and collaborative practices.
We are looking for educators who can share both professional knowledge and practical experience through lectures, workshops, case studies, group discussions, and hands-on activities.
Our program has successfully trained and benefited over 3,000 educators in Jiangsu Province, and this year we are focusing on early childhood education leadership and management.

Teaching Focus
The program may include topics such as:
Inclusive education philosophy and practice in CanadaSpecial education and inclusive education support systemsIndividual Education Plans (IEPs) and student support planningAutism Spectrum Disorder support strategiesBehaviour as communication and positive behaviour supportLow-arousal approaches and safe classroom supportAAC and communication support systemsSensory supports, calm spaces, and inclusive classroom environmentsCollaboration among teachers, education assistants, families, and school teamsSupporting students with diverse learning, behavioural, communication, and social-emotional needsCase studies and practical support-plan designInclusive school activities, community participation, and belonging
Each teacher trainer will focus on areas that match their own professional background and strengths. Once the teaching team is confirmed, the instructors will work together to create a complete and complementary program structure.
Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver professional development sessions for Chinese special education and inclusive education teachersShare practical strategies, tools, and real examples from Canadian or North American school settingsLead workshop-style activities, short case studies, small-group discussions, and reflection tasksDevelop presentation materials and simple handouts for participantsCollaborate with the teaching team to avoid overlap and ensure a coherent program flowParticipate in program activities such as the opening ceremony, school visits, discussion sessions, and closing ceremonyWork with interpreters when needed to support communication with participants
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Child Development, or a related fieldTeaching certification or relevant professional qualificationExperience working in special education, inclusive education, resource support, learning support, or student servicesExperience supporting students with autism, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, behavioural needs, communication needs, or social-emotional challengesExperience developing or implementing IEPs, student support plans, behaviour support plans, or inclusive classroom strategiesExperience leading professional development, workshops, mentoring, or teacher training is strongly preferredStrong communication skills and comfort working in a cross-cultural educational setting
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who is reflective, practical, and collaborative. They should be able to explain inclusive education concepts clearly while also showing how these ideas are implemented in real classrooms and school communities.
We are especially interested in educators who can bring real examples, student profiles, classroom tools, support strategies, and workshop activities that help participants connect Canadian practice with their own school contexts.
