Overview
We are seeking an experienced taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finishing drywall, applying joint compound, and achieving smooth wall surfaces. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment on various construction projects. Responsibilities
- Apply drywall tape and joint compound to seams and corners for a seamless finish
- Sand and smooth surfaces to prepare for painting or further finishing
- Caulk and seal joints, gaps, and cracks to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
- Assist with carpentry tasks as needed, including framing or minor repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during finishing processes
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with other trades such as painters, carpenters, and general contractors to complete projects efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting, drywall finishing, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols
- Carpentry skills and handyman experience are highly desirable
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with caulking, taping, sanding, and surface preparation
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes
