In this individual contributor role, the FP&A Analyst not only reports forecasts and variances but also uses that data to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment
Responsibilities:
- Extract and reconcile financial data from Workday, ensuring accuracy of GL accounts and performing variance analysis against prior periods for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. Bank closely look at month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter performance. Addressing these points will provide bank's more insight
- Support intercompany eliminations during consolidation process, ensuring proper elimination of intercompany transactions and balances across business units
- Generate and validate standard financial reports from Workday, including trial balances, aging reports, and business unit performance metrics, to support statement preparation
- Prepare bank covenant calculations and supporting schedules, tracking compliance with debt agreements and flagging potential issues early
- Create and maintain financial statement presentation decks, MD&A, executive summaries, key performance indicators, and variance explanations
- Maintain documentation of financial reporting processes, including detailed procedures for report generation in Workday and reconciliation steps
- Assist in developing standardized report templates and automated workflows to improve efficiency in financial statement preparation
- Collaborate with various departments to gather supporting documentation for financial statement disclosures and supplementary schedules
- Monitor and validate data integrity in Workday financial reports, investigating and resolving discrepancies between source data and financial statements.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience
- CPA (CMA, CGA or CA) in progress (at senior level of program is preferred)
- Education: College diploma in Business or related discipline. A university degree in finance, commerce or business administration is preferred;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is mandatory (Pivot tables, V&H Lookup, simple Macros)
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work in fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Able to work well independently and within team environment
- Strong business and financial acumen; able to link business requirements with financial objectives
- Strong communication skills - clear written and verbal communication.
