Position Overview
The Fuel Truck Operator is responsible for delivering fuel to North Atlantic’s customers in a safe, timely and efficient manner while providing exceptional customer service. The driver will conduct and maintain the highest standard of safety in all activities and operations ensuring compliance to all Federal, Provincial Regulations, Standards & Codes including North Atlantic’s policies and procedures in relation to the safe delivery of dangerous goods.

We are seeking drivers located in Clarenville, Come-by-Chance or St. John’s area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Load required product (Clear Diesel, Dyed Diesel, Furnace Oil, Gasoline) into fuel truck adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Operate standard and/or automatic fuel trucks (single axle and tandem) safely and efficiently while representing the company in a professional manner.
- Completion of pre and post-trip inspections.
- Plan daily route using knowledge of geography, routes, timing, streets etc.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with dispatch to adjust and manage plans to build efficiencies into route and delivery orders.
- Follow delivery procedures at customer sites.
- Deliver product to our client base in a timely fashion within a designated area.
- Use a handheld computer device to monitor the flow of fuel being input & disposed from the truck.
- Maintain accurate processes and paperwork to ensure proper workflow and billing information (Manage bill of sales, declining balance, tickets, etc.).
- Accurately complete both regulatory and North Atlantic’s required documentation (TDG Shipping Documents, Bill of Lading, Driver Logbook, Declining Balance Log, Hours of Service).
- Record the amount of product on the truck by conducting daily dips.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of professional driving experience with a valid Class 1, 2 or 3 driver's license with airbrakes.
- Experience delivering propane or fuel is an asset.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), WHMIS, and Canadian Fuels certifications are required. Training will be provided if not certified.
- Ability to drive a standard is required.
- Work under minimal supervision, independently or as a part of a team.
- Comfortable with onboard computer technology.
- Keen attention to detail with a client focus.
- Communication, organization, and time management skills.
Requirements
- A current Class 1, 2, or 3 in good standing.
- Driver’s Abstract.
- Code of Conduct.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
