In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Plans, coordinates and controls the maintenance, repair and upgrading of the Regional Laundry industrial equipment, plumbing, hot oil and steam generation and HVAC systems. Supervises journeymen in a variety of trades areas and coordinates the work of contractors.
Grade 12, plus four years recent related experience including two years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician, accreditation as a Field Safety Representative (FSR), unrestricted Class A, recognized by the Province of BC Industry and vendor equipment certifications as required.
