Madrona Integrative Health is an established multidisciplinary clinic, located on Salt Spring Island. With our success, we are expanding to a new location just minutes from the new Cowichan District Hospital, in Crofton! The new location will maintain our integrative team dynamic with additional amenities for physical medicine and exercise therapy as it pertains to all ages and stages of life. Our clinic has been thoughtfully designed to support collaborative, high-quality patient care within a newly renovated and professionally managed environment.
About the position:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to establish yourself and grow with the development of a new clinic space equipped with quality treatment and rehabilitation equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering personalized fitness or group fitness programs, motivating clients to achieve their health goals, and creating a positive, engaging environment. You will work alongside a knowledgeable team of professionals to provide an integral component of holistic health care. While we are developing strong relationships within local sports communities — including opportunities to work with competitive, high-performance athletes — our clinical focus extends beyond sports medicine. We are committed to serving a diverse patient population and supporting individuals at all stages of health, recovery, and wellness. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong leadership presence, and a genuine desire to help others improve their physical well-being. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to serve a diverse clientele. Responsibilities
- Develop customized training plans tailored to individual client needs and goals
- Lead engaging and effective fitness sessions, demonstrating proper techniques and safety protocols
- Motivate clients to stay committed and reach their fitness milestones
- Provide guidance on nutrition, lifestyle habits, and injury prevention as appropriate
- Maintain a clean and organized training environment
- Track client progress and adjust programs accordingly
- Support clinicians in performing periodic physical assessments for clients
- Foster strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service and communication skills
- Participate in mentorship, professional development, and ongoing continuing education (cost not covered by the clinic)
- Promote a positive atmosphere that encourages client retention and satisfaction
- Stay current with industry trends, certifications, and best practices in fitness training
- Support day-to-day operations, marketing efforts, and client care
- Actively participate in Madrona's marketing efforts to collaboratively build your practice
- Communicate and collaborate with an integrative team of health care professionals
- Represent the clinic with integrity and passion
Qualifications
- A certified personal trainer (or in the process of attaining certification)
- Deeply passionate about health and fitness
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- A self-starter who takes ownership, solves problems, and shows up with a positive attitude
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate diverse clients of all fitness levels
- Exceptional customer service orientation with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple clients efficiently
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to inspire confidence and trust
- Excited about being part of a growing team and business
- Willing to get involved in all areas of the business (not just coaching)
- Athletic background in competitive sport (asset, not required)
- Post secondary education, particularly in health sciences (asset, not required)

Position details:
- Typically Independent contractor but employee contract is possible if desired
- Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
- Pay: $20.00-$50.00+ per hour depending on type of contract, number of clients, experience, pay structure etc.
- Expected hours: part time with the opportunity to grow to full time
