Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day bookkeeping. You will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable/receivable, and supporting the overall financial operations of our residential properties.
Duties
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, and financial statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
- Liaise with management, vendors, and external accountants as required
- Assist with tax preparation and audit support
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping in an Ontario-based office/setting (references will be required)
- Minimum 2 years experience with Simply/Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Fluent in written and oral English
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and time management abilities
- Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and CRA compliance required
Experience
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (required)
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (required)
- Simply/Sage Accounting Software: 2 years (required)
- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (required)
