About the Role: Warehouse Supervisor
Under the direction of the Branch Manager the Warehouse Supervisor ensures the smooth operations of the day-to-day activities and tasks in the warehouse to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely, picking, loading, shipping and storage of our products to meet client needs. The Warehouse Supervisor works closely with the Warehouse Associates, Logistics Coordinator(s) and other staff, and on their own to accomplish the tasks and duties necessary in the warehouse.
What you’ll be doing:
Day to Day Operations
- Perform day-to-day picking, loading, operation planning in warehouse, and other day to day warehouse duties.
- Keeping track of inventory and other logs as needed to help ensure inventory accuracy in our P21 system
- Communicate any issues with upper management to reach business goals effectively.
- Assist in providing appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary motivation, information, training and tools to perform their jobs.
- Provide daily complete handover with all orders and pallets on the floor for put away and pick up and unidentified freight.
- Complete and submit daily reports and propose ideas to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
People and Relationship Leadership
- Oversees the Warehouse Associates and Logistics Coordinator, and motivate them to do their job efficiently and provide daily objectives.
- Inspire and guide team members towards improving using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
- Be a role model for all employees by displaying a positive attitude, making consistent decisions in a transparent, objective and fair manner
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic by conducting self with integrity and demonstrating a sense of personal responsibility in all aspects of the work.
- Lead by example
- Promote a climate of positive employee relations by maintaining open communications with the team and with other departments who rely on the services and support of this team
Health and Safety
- This role is also the lead Health and Safety Representative
- Ensure that yourself, and all staff under your direction are equipped with and are using the proper personal protective equipment
- Ensures staff are properly trained in health and safety and adhere to all safety requirements; if there are any issues addresses them in timely manner. Addresses any Health and Safety related issues in the warehouse environment and ensure they are corrected as soon as possible
- Ensures any employee incidents or near misses are recorded and reported to the appropriate parties
- Promotes and enforces a healthy and safe working environment and ensure a safe working environment 100% of the time
- Conducts daily tower, vehicle, tools and equipment inspections to ensure their proper maintenance and function, as required
