Position: Account Manager - International
Division: Sales
Location: Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Reporting to: International Sales and Product Development Manager
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Position Summary
Working closely with the International Sales team you will be responsible for managing and expanding our business base in the International markets – primarily Canada, Europe, Australia and South America. The candidate will primarily focus on growing our current account base and actively pursue new business development with various retailers. You will be responsible for achieving sales objectives, delivering product presentations, and building strong relationships with our customers, while clearly communicating our brand strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the sales process from prospect identification to program agreement negotiation and planning to pricing and execution within assigned territory.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts.
- Forecast sales targets and budget sales, and effectively maintain and update financial forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Initiate sales and business development activities, including representative management.
- Establish and build effective relationships with key accounts/customers and collaborate cross functionally across internal departments to address key business issues and opportunities.
- Leverage market and account knowledge to maximize/drive new business growth; expand into new markets and contribute to expansion among existing customers ensuring sales support processes are managed.
- Analyze customer needs and interests in order to maximize sales volume and identify service requirements.
- Convey customer requirements to Product Management and internal teams accordingly.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our products in order to resolve any buyer inquiries and answer questions related to our products.
- Schedule and attend customer appointments as required.
- Prepare and present effective product presentations to customers.
- Fulfill quote requests to new and existing clients as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of all products, market conditions, changing trends, economic indicators, competitive activities and industry trends.
- Collect and gather competitive information as required.
- Meet and exceed all revenue/sales targets set (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Travel internationally as needed.
- Other duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- University degree or college diploma in business/marketing or at least 1-3 years of Account Management for consumer goods
- Experience directly managing and selling to national retailers within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
- Proven success developing, presenting, and implementing business plans
- Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize tasks and scheduling without direction
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of key financial metrics, forecasting and budgeting
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Passport
- Flexible schedule to accommodate travel and customer requirements
- Bilingual: English/French is required
Nice to haves by not musts
- Experience selling into Walmart, Canadian Tire, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Loblaws Costco and/or international retailers outside of the United States
- Experience with cut and sew is considered an asset (bags, luggage etc.)
- Experience in similar industry including drinkware or sporting goods is also considered an asset
