Responsibilities
- Swift growth into a manager role with demonstrated business acumen and partnership options long term if desired.
- Work closely with a diverse client base to plan and perform their engagements as well as be their contact when they’re seeking advice or have questions and respond in a timely manner.
- Coach and mentor other junior team members and students as they work through the CPA program.
- Responsible for audits, review and compilation engagements, and corporate tax preparation.
- Preparing audit quotes, meeting with audit committees, attending AGMs and the ability to sign off on audit engagements.
- Work with clients to prepare personal tax filings.
- Meet and communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Other special projects as agreed to and in the interest of the successful candidate.
Qualifications and Competencies
- CPA designation.
- 3+ years of experience in a Canadian public practice firm, including experience and training in assurance work and/or tax.
- Strong assurance knowledge is a must.
- Experience in preparing Compilations, Review Engagements and Audits.
- Experience in personal, corporate and estate tax returns.
- Experience with CaseWare and Jazz-It!, TaxCycle (or similar tax software), QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Office, as well as time/billing software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all members of our team and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and present a professional image in a business casual environment.
