Capital Projects Planning and Delivery (CPPD) is a division within the Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services and is responsible for the planning and delivery of capital projects on behalf of varied provincial government client group divisions and branches. The Technical Services Branch of CPPD offers multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering and technical support services for portfolio capital planning, project design and project construction.
Conditions of Employment:

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Drivers' License
- Must be able to travel to various locations around the Province via air or ground transportation with overnight stays
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or diploma in specific technical discipline from a recognized technical institution, Engineer, Architect, PMP Designation, or combined relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience developing architectural designs, drawings and specifications using AutoCAD or other related design software for new construction and renovation projects
- A strong knowledge of architectural practices, building codes and standards, construction methods and building science
- Knowledge of contract administration/management processes and procedures, including: tendering, contract change management, contract payments, contract closeout
- Field experience with facility assessments, scope development, and construction quality reviews
- Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise, and organized manner for presentation to a variety of audiences and to produce materials such as reports, letters, submissions, manuals, or procedures, etc.
- Effective problem solving and team collaboration skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and produce work to meet competing deadlines
- Ability to lead and oversee technical working groups, review technical work by others, and supervise staff
Desired:
- Experience with REVIT
- Experience with structural drafting and drawing development
Duties:
This position, reporting to the Manager of Architecture and Structural Engineering or the Senior Architect, is responsible for providing senior architectural technologist services for the Branch, the Division, and other departments and agencies of the government. This is complex technical work in support of the Capital Planning and Project Delivery branch across all phases of project planning and delivery. The Senior Technologist role will be responsible for senior level expertise of drawing and specifications production, technical standards development across multi-disciplinary teams, contract administration, field assessments of existing facilities and new construction, resolution of complex technical issues, technical reviews of professional work by others, leading technical teams and providing staff supervision.
