Executive Operational Lead
Executive Operational Lead — Office of the Co-Founders
Consumer Genius Inc. (CGI) | Calgary, AB
About Consumer Genius
Consumer Genius Inc. is a Calgary-based performance marketing and lead generation company operating at significant scale across multiple brands, including QuackQuack, Truly Insure, Canadian Life Rates & AutoFinance.ca, Loanz.ca , and Consumer Genius Limited (our UK FCA-regulated subsidiary for legal claims and financial marketing). We move fast, operate across multiple jurisdictions, and are constantly building new ventures alongside our core business.
The Role
We're looking for an Executive Operational Lead to work directly and exclusively with the two Co-Founders. This is the opposite of a traditional EA role — it is not about scheduling and travel, it's about operational execution. You will translate the Co-Founders' direction into action: running point on calls, organizing due diligence and documentation, and managing the day-to-day operational detail so the Co-Founders can stay focused on strategy rather than execution. This is not a COO role and does not carry organization-wide authority — it exists solely to serve the two Co-Founders.
What You'll Do
- Take direction from the Co-Founders and execute tasks reliably, no matter the size — from responding to emails on their behalf to completing other business tasks as assigned
- Join calls on the Co-Founders' behalf, take structured notes, and upload/organize records into HubSpot and Cortex
- Organize and route due diligence (DD) materials to the right people, ensuring nothing stalls
- Translate the Co-Founders' strategic direction into actionable, tracked plans and follow through until complete
- Manage day-to-day operational detail across processes and workstreams to keep things running smoothly
- Act as connective tissue between teams — resolving roadblocks and ensuring alignment without needing to escalate every issue back to the Co-Founders
- Track and follow up on action items across multiple active workstreams (legal matters, contract reviews, new venture builds, hiring) so nothing falls through the cracks
- Prepare briefing documents, meeting materials, and summaries that let the Co-Founders walk into a room already informed
- Liaise with internal teams (finance, legal, operations) and external parties (counsel, auditors, partners) to keep projects moving
- Handle confidential and sensitive information — legal, financial, personal — with absolute discretion
- Anticipate needs before being asked; flag risks or conflicts proactively rather than waiting to be told
Who You Are
- Smart and sharp — you pick up context quickly, connect dots across unrelated workstreams, and don't need things explained twice
- Highly accessible and responsive — comfortable being reachable outside strict 9-5 hours when something time-sensitive comes up; this is a fast-moving environment
- High-performing and self-directed — you don't wait for instructions when the priority is obvious; you take ownership and drive things to completion
- Unshakeable discretion — you will be exposed to confidential legal, financial, and personal matters and can be trusted completely
- Excellent written and verbal communicator — able to draft correspondence and represent the founders' voice accurately
- Calm under pressure — competing priorities and last-minute changes don't rattle you
- Detail-obsessed — you catch the small thing that would otherwise become a big problem
Preferred Background
- 3+ years' experience as an Operations Lead, Chief of Staff, or similar execution-focused role supporting senior executives or founders, ideally in a fast-paced or entrepreneurial environment
- Experience supporting more than one founder/executive simultaneously is a strong asset
- Experience with HubSpot (or similar CRM) and comfort setting up/maintaining organized documentation systems
- Comfortable working across multiple companies/brands and, ideally, some exposure to multi-jurisdictional operations (Canada/US/UK) or regulated industries
- Strong proficiency with standard productivity and scheduling tools (Google Workspace / Microsoft 365, project trackers, etc.)
- Post-secondary education preferred but not required — we care more about capability than credentials
