JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Summer Program Animator, Residence
Reporting to: Coordinator of Residence
Position Type: Full time (day) 32 hours/week (6weeks)
Start date:_ ASAP as the summer program begins June 23rd, 2026_
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Residential Program (RP)offers 14 weeks of family counselling for families experiencing difficulties with their adolescents. This includes an eight-week structured therapeutic program of respite, residential care for the youth (aged 12-17 years).
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
They will develop the residential summer program with the help of the coordinator of therapeutic services. This program is aimed at youth who are experiencing difficulties at home and/or at school. The employee will plan daily activities that encourage social interactions, provide learning opportunities and help teens develop strategies to help them cope with their stresses and emotions.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
- Communicate with other team members by using main and individual logs.
- Supervise teens during outings and different activities.
- Collaborate with summer coordinator/educators to ensure summer program runs smoothly.
- Ensure the safety/security of the teens in the program.
- Verify that daily routines are followed by teens in the program;
- Intervene during possible problematic situations.
- Perform additional duties as necessary or as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum of a CEGEP Diploma in Special Care Counselling or related field.
- Experience working with adolescents would be an asset.
- Bilingualism is required.
Pay: $19.50 per hour
