Gamebridge Go-Karts/Brechin Motorsport Park is a multi-use outdoor go-kart track that hosts public go-karting, Arrive & Drive kart league racing, a kart racing school, and motorsport events such as auto slalom, drift and other events.
We are looking for a go-kart mechanic to join our team and help run the track and service the karts. Duties and responsibilities:
- Opening, operating and closing the facility
- Supervise support staff
- Interacting with the public, including selling and payment
- Provide instruction to children, teens and adults on operation of karts, racing rules and safety
- Help run Arrive & Drive practice and racing events
- Conduct repairs and maintenance of karts and other equipment
- Maintain kart performance throughout the day
- Help with maintenance of track and facility
- Assist with special projects as required
- Keep accurate documentation of repairs and parts inventory
- Responsibly maintain supply of tools and machinery
- Respond to emergency situations as they arise
Note that kart mechanic specific training will be provided by a licensed TSSA mechanic and that candidates will be registered with a valid skills passport should they wish to pursue TSSA Certification.
Work Environment:
This position will require candidates to:
- Work weekends and holidays from April to October, including morning/afternoon/evening shifts as necessary
- Work in high volume conditions - lift, run, push, bend and stand for extended periods of time, usually outdoors in hot/cold/wet weather
- Interact with the public, including children, teens and adults
- Work in and out of a repair shop, with hand and power tools as well as fuel, oil, grease and similar fluids on a regular basis
- Respect and adhere to no-smoking, no-vaping and safety standards
- Be presentable in appearance and behave in a manner suitable for a family environment
- There is possible additional hours available between November and March working on karts and engines inside
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age with high school diploma and driver’s license
- Ability to communicate with customers (individually and in groups) and respond to questions in a positive manner through eye contact, verbal communication and body language to ensure an enjoyable experience
- Interest and aptitude in mechanical repairs
- General knowledge of small engines and their operation
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
