About Us
Tiny Sprouts Childcare is a newly opening, licensed early learning centre located in the Bridgeland community in Calgary. Our program is play-based and inspired by the Alberta FLIGHT curriculum, with a strong focus on nurturing, responsive relationships and high-quality early learning experiences.
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educators to join our founding team as we prepare to open our centre.
Position Summary
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive. You will work collaboratively with a small, supportive team to deliver high-quality care and programming for children aged 19 months to pre-kindergarten.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and development
- Support children's emotional, social, and behavioral growth through positive guidance techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and needs
- Assess individual student needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements, and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and other documentation
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities, share best practices, and ensure consistency in teaching approaches
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting respect and cooperation among children
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Requirements
- Valid Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 certification (Alberta)
- Current First Aid & CPR (Level C)
- Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic classroom environment
- Effective written communication skills for documentation and parent interactions
- Classroom experience demonstrating the ability to create engaging learning activities
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, including children from various cultural backgrounds
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and lifelong learning
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
