Job Summary
We are seeking a Part time (evenings and weekends or as your schedule permits) skilled and dedicated Race Team Mechanic to join our competitive racing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive repair, high horsepower motors, carbs, cams, timing and want some extra money. Also, the ability to work efficiently under pressure. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a competitive race vehicle to ensure peak performance during competitions. Candidates with rebuild experience, welding skills, and familiarity with tuning will be highly valued. The Race Team Mechanic plays a vital role in supporting our team’s success through expert vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on race vehicles, including engine work, suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to modify or repair parts as needed
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately
- Conduct inspections to identify potential mechanical problems before races
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components for upgrades or repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for vehicle setup and optimization
- Heavy lifting of vehicle parts and equipment during maintenance procedures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and racing regulations
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience, preferably within automotive or dealership environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Experience with welding, schematics reading, and assembly processes
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments
- Customer service skills are a plus for interacting with team members and stakeholders
- Prior experience working on race vehicles or high-performance cars is preferred but not required
