Cherish Integrated Services (CHIS) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the independence, inclusion, and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Since 2010, CHIS has provided holistic, individualized training and support programs using Structured Teaching and mental health principles as our core approach.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Children & Youth Program Supervisor to provide leadership, supervision, and program oversight for our children and youth services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an RSW who wants to do more than manage day-to-day programs. You will help build and shape our evolving service model, strengthen our case management and documentation systems, support and develop our staff members, and introduce innovative services such as group programs, in-home support, and community-based programming.
You will work closely with children and youth with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs, as well as their families, staff, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
- Oversee the quality and delivery of individual, group, in-home, and community-based children and youth programs.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized service plans and group programs, and provide direct service delivery according to the service demands.
- Ensure programming is structured, purposeful, individualized, and aligned with CHIS's Structured Teaching approach and other appropriate evidence-informed practices.
- Monitor participant progress, outcomes, and service quality and recommend changes where needed.
- Identify service gaps and lead the development of new programs and services.
Supervision & Development
- Directly supervise and support staff, volunteers, and placement students.
- Provide regular individual and/or group supervision, case consultation, coaching, and professional guidance.
- Review staff performance, case documentation, and program delivery.
- Support staff hiring, onboarding, training, professional development, and performance management.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, accountable, and supportive team culture.
Administration, Case Management & Documentation
- Communicate strongly with parents and staff to schedule sessions, make logistical arrangements, and monitor payments.
- Establish and maintain effective case note, documentation, and case management systems.
- Review case notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other participant records for accuracy and quality.
- Lead case reviews and conferences and ensure participant goals and services are appropriately monitored.
- Ensure documentation complies with organizational privacy, confidentiality, and professional standards.
Family & Community Collaboration
- Conduct intakes with families and provide registration information.
- Build strong and respectful relationships with parents, guardians, and caregivers.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding participant progress, goals, concerns, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with schools, therapists, healthcare professionals, community agencies, and other service providers as appropriate.
- Support referrals and connections to relevant community resources.
Crisis & Risk Management
- Provide professional guidance during behavioural, emotional, or other crisis situations.
- Support staff in managing safety concerns and challenging situations.
- Ensure appropriate incident reporting, follow-up, and risk-management practices.
Program Innovation
- Develop new group programs addressing areas such as social skills, communication, life skills, emotional regulation, community participation, and transition planning.
- Help develop and implement in-home and community-based services.
- Develop program materials, staff guidelines, policies, procedures, and training resources.
- Contribute to program evaluation, outcome measurement, grant applications, reports, and community partnerships.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, Executive Director, and CHIS team.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, training, and professional development.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all CHIS policies and procedures.
- Participate in community outreach, fundraising, and organizational events as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work.
- Current registration as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with children and/or youth with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory, leadership, or program management experience.
- Strong knowledge of autism, developmental disabilities, child/youth development, behavioural and social-emotional needs, and family dynamics.
- Experience with individualized service planning, case management, documentation, and progress monitoring.
- Strong crisis intervention, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with families, schools, professionals, and community organizations.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and Case Management Software.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Fluency in English. Fluency in oral Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred.
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
