What You Will Be Doing as an Engineering Manager - Tooling:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing, leading, and coordinating the design and tool room activities to meet schedule and budget requirements as well as company goals.
The manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the departments, supports the supervisors to plan, schedule and implement new initiatives and provides directions on technical issues on current projects and potential projects presented by the Business Development team.
Job Responsibilities:
· Supervise and lead tool room and die design department to ensure customer requirements are met
· Develop and improve current processes in the design and tool room to streamline and eliminate variations within the processes used
· Ensure that timelines, budgets and expenditure for tool maintenance are in line with budgets and solicit feedback from supervisors on a regular basis on how to improve department performance
· Confirm that procedures are followed and provide input if changes are required to ensure that the departments are auditable and risk exposure for nonconformance is managed
· Coordinates with Project Management to ensure that project deliverables are met and adjust approach as needed
· Provide annual budgets for the departments to support the strategic goals of the organization
· Take a leading role in the implementation and optimization of plant layout, process flows and provide guidance for new equipment purchases
· Provide monthly reports on KPI’s for the departments and management team
· Support sales and quoting activities internally and at the customer locations to ensure that tooling and process capabilities are aligned with customer specifications
· Provide feedback on vendor selection and strategy to purchasing for tooling and tool room related materials to optimize supply chain timing and expenditures
· Follow the company’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance from the department
· Always maintain safety and housekeeping
What You Should Have, as an Engineering Manager – Tooling:
- Certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a degree in Engineering is considered an asset.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Toolmaker and/or Machinist.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with Quality Management Systems based on the TS 16949 quality standard.
- Working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, acts, and regulations.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect the team with other areas of the organization to foster collaboration and promote innovation.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate team members to achieve company objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s licence and passport.
- Ability to travel to the United States without restrictions.

Pay: $120,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
