Are you a hard worker who thrives in a fast-paced, outdoor environment? Rapid Concrete Ltd. is seeking a reliable, safety-minded Yard Labourer / Equipment Operator to join our ready-mix concrete plant team.
In this role, you will be the backbone of our yard operations. You’ll split your time between essential manual yard maintenance and operating heavy equipment—specifically a Wheel Loader and a Bobcat (Skid Steer)—to keep our aggregate bins full and the plant running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a Wheel Loader and Bobcat to move, stockpile, and load aggregates (sand, gravel, stone) into plant bins.
- Yard Maintenance: Keep the plant yard clean, organized, and free of debris. This includes shoveling, sweeping, and managing concrete washout areas.
- Material Handling: Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
- Safety & Compliance: Perform daily pre-trip inspections on equipment. Adhere to all plant safety protocols, wear required PPE, and report any hazards immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Assist the Batch Plant Operator and concrete truck drivers as needed to ensure timely dispatches.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating a Wheel Loader and a Skid Steer/Bobcat (experience in a concrete plant, quarry, or construction yard is a major asset).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Safety-First Mindset: A proven track record of working safely around heavy machinery and loud environments.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual, and able to work flexible hours (including early mornings or occasional Saturdays during peak season).
- License: Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to get to the plant.
